Last week marked an incredible milestone- I launched my website, officially bringing my business and brand to life! This journey began as a vision for a more equitable and culturally responsive approach to special education, particularly for Black students with emotional behavioral disabilities. Now, with a digital home to share resources, insights, and support, I’m excited to connect with educators, administrators, researchers, and advocates committed to reshaping special education.
Why This Work Matters
There’s an urgent need to address the significant disproportionality in special education, especially concerning Black students who are too often misidentified, over-disciplined, and under-supported. Through my consulting work, I aim to collaborate with schools, districts, and educational organizations to challenge and change the systems and practices that drive these disparities. Each student deserves an educational experience that respects their unique strengths and identities, and my goal is to help make that a reality.
What You’ll Find Here
I’ve designed this site as a resource hub and community space. Whether you’re an educator, school leader, or simply interested in supporting educational equity, here are a few things you can explore on the site:
Resource Highlights: I’ll be regularly sharing research, tools, and strategies that center Black students and foster a more inclusive classroom environment.
Insights on Policy & Practice: I believe in actionable change. Look out for blog posts that discuss evidence-based strategies and policy insights for addressing significant disproportionality.
Opportunities to Connect: From speaking engagements to consulting sessions, I offer various ways to collaborate and support your organization’s goals.
Join the Journey!
I’m thrilled to have our first subscribers on board and look forward to growing this community. As you explore the website, feel free to reach out with questions, feedback, or to simply say hello! Together, we can turn the page on outdated approaches and build educational environments that empower every child to thrive.
Thank you for being a part of this mission!
